Rates used, current as of July 2026: PAYE bands 10%
to KES 24,000, 25% to KES 32,333, 30% to KES 500,000, 32.5% to KES
800,000, 35% above; personal relief KES 2,400/month. NSSF at 6% on
Tier I (first KES 9,000) plus 6% on Tier II (KES 9,001 to KES
108,000), capped at KES 6,480. SHIF at 2.75% of gross (minimum KES
300). Affordable Housing Levy at 1.5% of gross. NSSF, SHIF and the
Housing Levy are all deducted before PAYE is calculated. This is
general information, not payroll or tax advice, and statutory rates
change. Confirm current figures with KRA or a licensed payroll
professional before running real payroll on them.
